My Self Poster

FIRST ASSIGNMENT

The theme that I went with for this poster represents my artistic style. I aspire to be a musician and that is why I went with the heading design of colour music notes. My picture that I used for this poster is a thumbnail of my song “Khat”. I also love poetry hence the top title “Poets Corner”. I’m a singer, songwriter, composer and guitarist in real life and these are probably the first things that I would use when describing myself. I went with a bright and vibrant colour scheme to give the poster a positive and appealing vibe. The poetry “Don’t apart…” is from a Sufi saint and a great musician, Hazrat Amir Khusrow, who also inspired me and affected the style of music that I do. Since this was my first photoshop assignment and because I was still learning the software, I chose to keep the poster simple and clean.

Magazine for Men’s Fashion

Most of the magazines that I looked at ,before making the cover, that were for men’s fashion had a simple and elegant style to them. For the background I chose a light grey colour because it compliments the outfit, especially it’s colour, of the model. For the title and subtitle I chose a simplistic style to go along with the elegant style and the pose of the model and the placing of the subtitles fits perfectly.

Moodboard

For the contents page I went with a pretty simplistic theme to go along with the simple and elegant cover. I chose a light background to better showcase the featured pictures of the model. It compliments the colour scheme of the pictures. The red colour of the title ‘exclusive’ again showcases itself better. The fonts used for this are pretty simplistic to match with the minimalistic style. I didn’t had to work too much on this because firstly I went with a simple style considering I was still learning the software and secondly for this content page I made a planned layout because my teacher told me to do that first as it helps a lot while developing the product.
